Bureau of Land Management (BLM)
At BLM, a major training gap existed between leaders coming into the organization and those already in higher leadership positions. The group in the middle—those most likely to fill positions vacated by the large number of upcoming retirements—was missing training and development opportunities; succession planning became a major issue. • California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR)
As they shift from a punitive corrections system to a rehabilitative one CDCR—in support of their commitment to leadership and workforce excellence as a core value—selected The Leadership Challenge® as an integral part of their supervisor training. Over a two-year period beginning in 2006, Sonoma Leadership Systems trained over 1,900 first and second line supervisors. The program was so successful, they again contracted with us to train an additional 3,400 supervisors.

• California Public Utilities Commission
A few years ago, the State of California mandated sweeping changes to its vast network of websites. A new look and feel designed to provide access to all members of the public would need to be implemented within a one-year timeline and with a limited budget. Read or download the case study.

•  Chevron
The Chevron Management Institute supports nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) in Angola, Canada, the Dominican Republic, Indonesia, Nigeria, Thailand, and the United States. In 2008, the Institute contracted with Sonoma Leadership Systems to deliver a complete leadership development process based on The Leadership Challenge® to 28 NGO executives. •  City of Klamath Falls, Oregon
A change in leadership gave the City of Klamath Falls, Oregon, the opportunity to turn around an environment in which leadership development had taken a back seat to other priorities.   Edwards Air Force Base—Air Force Flight Test Center
The Edwards AFB Organizational Consulting Office (OCO) works with military and civilian personnel to “increase organizational effectiveness and efficiency through behavioral science and organizational development strategies.” The Leadership Challenge® in conjunction with the LPI is one of these strategies. •  Kal Tire
With more than 200 stores across the country, Kal Tire is Canada's largest tire distributor. Eleven of their executives attended Sonoma Leadership Systems' public workshop as a prelude to a company-wide rollout in January 2009. Since then, more than 300 managers have participated in The Leadership Challenge®, now the organization's "leadership language." 

  Leaders across Borders (LaB) 
With developing leaders and collaboration in a context of unique health systems, cultures, languages, and ways of doing business, as their highest priorities, Leaders across Borders chose The Leadership Challenge® delivered by Sonoma Leadership Systems for their pilot program.
