
John Choma
Leadership Challenge Facilitator
John Choma has been a Learning and Development professional for the last 22 years. He has served as an officer of a public company and has held the titles of Vice President of Organizational Development, Learning & Performance; Senior Vice President, Human Resources; and Chief Learning Officer.
John comes to Sonoma Leadership Systems with a wealth of experience. He has built eLearning, blended learning, action-learning, and leadership development capabilities for both large and medium-sized enterprises. He launched, incubated, and managed a professional services business unit and a Web 2.0 knowledge management system. He also is a founder of a corporate university and has extensive experience working with organizations worldwide, including North America, Western Europe, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Thailand, Singapore,Taiwan and Korea.
Through the International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI), John earned the title of Certified Performance Technologist (CPT). He specializes in taking a “systems” approach to developing learning organizations, team cohesiveness, and performance excellence. He has a degree in Education from the University of Virginia and a Master's Degree in the Science of Organizational Leadership from Norwich University in Vermont.
Among his other achievements, John was a world-champion football player for the San Francisco 49ers. He played on both the Offensive and Defensive lines for the 49ers and is best known for his role in the historic “Goal Line Stand” in Super Bowl XVI.
John and his wife and three daughters reside in the technology hub of Silicon Valley, California.
