Nancy Peterson
Project Manager/Consultant
A graduate of Northwestern University, Nancy found meaningful work in the volunteer sector while her children were young. She became a Volunteer Career Development trainer, served on several boards, and held numerous leadership positions on the local and state levels. Her work ultimately led to national recognition and a rewarding career in the nonprofit world.
As a communications executive for two major associations, Nancy gained a wealth of business and management experience. In additional to serving on strategic planning teams and professional development work groups, she planned national and international conferences, managed annual and semi-annual leadership conferences, spearheaded development and implementation of two national awareness campaigns (still celebrated annually), and for six years was editor-in-chief of a medical association monthly newsmagazine.
For the past eight years, Nancy has been with BridgeWorks, the research, writing, speaking, and training company that shares an office building with Sonoma Leadership. As Program Director, Nancy touched all aspects of the business. Her work with Lynne Lancaster and David Stillman, as well as hundreds of clients, has given her a profound understanding of generational issues from countless perspectives. Most recently, she played a key role in development of their new book on the Millennial generation released in April 2010.
Nancy’s interests are many and varied. In the early 90s she acted on her passion for learning more about children and their development by earning her Master’s Degree at Loyola University in Chicago. Nancy considers herself a lifelong learner and privileged to have experienced the exciting changes in technology and the work world over the past two and a half decades. She welcomes new challenges and looks forward to her work with the Sonoma Leadership team.
