Bill van Bark is a is a seasoned professional in the areas of leadership assessment, coaching, and facilitation. He has assisted Fortune 500 companies, mid-market businesses, and start-ups with talent management and organizational development. Bill has experience working in numerous industries including financial services, oil and gas, government, construction management, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, health services, and information technology. Client companies have included ING, Bank of America, Kaiser Permanante, CH2M Hill, EnCana Oil & Gas, Sony Pictures, Smashburger, State of Oregon, Office of Personnel Management.
In his work as a coach and advisor, Bill has helped senior executives and high potentials identify and develop key leadership behaviors. He brings a practical and clear approach to helping leaders navigate complex organizational challenges. Bill believes that effective coaching provides insight, skill building, and support during crucial periods of change. Growth is accelerated as leaders are empowered to go out and practice what they are learning.
Bill has helped to select and train leadership teams and has provided facilitation for both business and academic audiences. He has excellent communication skills and particular expertise in the areas of emotional intelligence, leadership development, and organizational change. Bill is committed to designing and conducting training that is targeted, practical and focused on business results.
Prior to beginning van Bark Consulting, Bill served as an organizational consultant for the University of Colorado providing needs assessments, team development and conflict resolution. Bill is a licensed psychologist and holds a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Denver. He has also worked in clinical practice and non-profit leadership. Bill is currently a member of the American Psychological Association and the Society of Consulting Psychologists. In his time off, he enjoys skiing and motorcycle touring.
